What is Brainspotting?
"Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neuro-physiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms."
Brainspotting has been shown to be incredibly helpful in the area of trauma, including PTSD. Brainspotting does not always require that we share our whole story, but gives us the space to work through emotions, memories, experiences that are difficult to access through other modalities. The places where we store our trauma is located deep within our brain.
Brainspotting is a tool used to help us access those areas and move us from dysregulation (as a result of our trauma, anxiety, negative emotions, etc.) to a place of regulation.
